This blog is written for people who want to start an online business but are new to internet marketing. Specifically, it is for those who:

• Are trying to decide if a business of their own is right for them.
• Are trying to decide if the business they want to start should be an internet business.
• Have decided the answers to the above questions are “yes”.
• Are looking for step-by-step “how to” instructions on starting an internet marketing business.

The concepts behind constructing an internet-based business are the same as that of any other business:

• Determine what you would be happy to be involved in.
• Find a group of people with a similar interest who have wants, needs, concerns, questions they want answered, etc.
• Find products, that you could provide, that offer solutions or answers to what they are looking for.
• Determine how you will present your products. (In this case, from a web location as opposed to a traditional retail store front.)
• Let people know you have a place where they can find the solutions they are looking for and invite them to “stop by”.

This represents the basics. Not hard to understand. What is hard is figuring out how to do them.

There are many different ways to put these all together. You have already discovered this fact if you have spent any time at all using the internet to get answers to the above.

You have also discovered that there is a HUGE amount of information out there for you to wade through. Some of it free – some of it not; some of it good, high-quality – a lot of it useless junk.

This blog is for people who are serious about exploring and/on starting an online business, but don’t have the time or the money to waste in wading through all this information looking for answers. People who want to do things correctly. People who want/need to get started now.

Are you looking for information that you can use now to get starting building an online business? If so, this blog may be right for you.

I will not try to convince you that I have waded through all the information there is available to building an online business. Not even close, impossible to do. I will tell you that I have been, and still am, on the journey you are taking. That journey is to find or develop (for myself and you) basic step-by-step “how do I do this” information that will allow anyone to develop an online business.

There, undoubtedly, is good information out there that I haven’t discovered yet, and probably never will. Likewise, I am sure there is a lot more junk I have yet to encounter. There is also a lot of specialty information out there that address in much greater detail some of the topics this blog covers. That is their niche, or specialty.

So, I don’t claim to have all of the answers, or even the answer to starting an online business. What I do have for you is an answer that will help you logically go through the steps required to develop your own online business.

This blog, as I develop it, will focus on:

• What to focus on before making the decision to start your business.
• How to be productive working from home.
• Finding a suitable target market.
• Finding products to offer.
• Building and maintaining a web presence.
• Getting potential customers to your site.

I will be recommending actions to take or products to use to help you in the above areas.

In each and every case, what I recommend will be something that I have read that I think is valuable, something I am doing, or a product that I am using myself to help me develop my business.

Many of the resources I recommend will be free. Some will be products that I suggest you purchase. I will explain why I think you should use them and let you make the decision to buy or not. If there’s a choice between a free and a “to purchase” resource, I will present both to you. Products I suggest you purchase will either be mine or ones for which I will receive an affiliate commission. Fair enough?
